The authentic Tuscan experience is becoming overloaded, but at Tenuta San Carlo it reigns naturally supreme. What a perfect place for someone who loves nature, sea, food/wine, and real people. I have spent 30 years all around Italy and could not recommend a better place to relax, write or do art.

How many of the Australian backpacking teenagers we met in the hostels in Italy get to finish their Euro-tour skinny-dipping on a wild Tuscan beach surrounded by wild horses? I love to finish my vacation doing something more adventurous, more off-the-beaten-track, and we definitely got that a San Carlo!

After being here for a few days one realizes the depth and generosity of being given a week in San Carlo. This is more than a Tuscan villa. It is a sanctuary. I have recaptured a steadiness of breathe and thought that has long been elusive. I wonder how long I will retain it upon return to the melee of Seattle politics.

Our stay at San Carlo was truly memorable; the ranch was beautiful, and the location perfect for small trips to the best spots in Tuscany. Though we spent most of our time discovering the property, nearby towns were charming and just a short bike ride away. Accomodations at the ranch were very comfortable, spacious, and well-equiped. I highly recommend San Carlo to all!

Tenuta San Carlo is a different world. Once you're enveloped, riding a horse down a rustic trail- where each field sports a new form of wildlife- becomes natural to the traveler. You forget your tourism and relax into an idyllic tuscany. It might have been luck- but we met a horse racing team on the ranch- who offered us free travel to Rome to watch their race. You should visit me, once I find a way to move there permanently.

My friends and I just spent a fantastic weekend at Tenuta San Carlo. The moment we arrived it was like we were in a different world, we all study in Florence and though it is beautiful there, the city is loud and crowded. The fresh air and picturesque setting were just what we were looking for! The first morning I went for a fantastic run down a gorgeous tree lined path to the beach, on my way I was passed by several horse back riders. Later that day I got to take a horse down to the ocean and we galloped along the coast line. This is honestly one of the best vacations I have ever taken...I wish I could have stayed longer and I can't wait to go back!

My first stay on the farm a few years ago was AMAZING. It was spring time and so I arrived just in time to see all of the baby animals on the farm! It was incredible and I cannot wait to go back! A little piece of heaven on earth.

Our stay at Tenuta San Carlo was nothing less than magical. The sweeping beauty of the pine forests, marshlands and Mediterranean Sea held us in a kind of a womb in which we could let go of all of our worldly concerns.
